Springfield has a rich, eclectic music scene. We’ve got everything from bluegrass and country to jazz and blues, and plenty of good ole rock n’ roll. Here’s a playlist of some of our favorite jams from local musicians!
One of the most successful bands from Springfield in recent memory, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin has been featured on national tv shows, commercials, late night talk shows and has played concerts all over the world. Keep an eye out for their shows in Springfield. They have a couple of shows coming up at the Outland Ballroom!
Molly and Dallas play at Springfield Brewing Company most Friday nights. They produce one of the area’s best folk duos with their blend of acoustic guitar, violin/fiddle, cello and of course, some amazing two-part harmony.
Patrick Mureithi is an ultra-talented musician, filmmaker and speaker in Springfield. He plays a unique brand of blues, folk and reggae that has mellow easy-listening feel. He holds some really unique concerts as well, including house shows for a small group of people.
These guys put on a heck of a show. Their energy is contagious and they have generated a huge following in Springfield because of it. The biggest hits of the 80s have never sounded this good!
Shaun Munday’s voice is as smooth as peanut butter. This guy embodies soul in every sense of the word in his performances. The emotions are palpable in his music and he’s an amazing bass guitar player, too!
The Cole Porter Band is a family affair. Cole and his wife Kendra provide the vocals for this southern rock/country hybrid band along with their bearded band. They don’t mess around. They’re country through and through, but with and edge you’d find in the red dirt rock of Texas.
Gumucio plays a wide variety of rock ‘n roll originals. His sound is inspired by indie pop and has evolved over his 20 year musical career. You can find him all over Springfield including the Patton Alley Pub, Hotel Vandivort, Cartoons and Farmer’s Park.
What Springfield-based playlist would be complete without a Daredevils song? Some of the members of OMD are still jamming around the Queen City. Keep an eye out for Nick Sibley and Ruell Chappell playing around town.
