It’s a big month for country music, festivals and performing arts. Don’t let anyone tell you there’s nothing to do in town! There’s tons of awesome stuff going on in Springfield in February! Check out some of the biggest events this month!

2018 Downtown Awards

When: Thursday, February 1, 6-8 p.m.

Where: Missouri Spirits, 507 W. Walnut St.

The Downtown Council of Champions are putting on the 2018 Downtown Awards. They’ll be crowning New Office of the Year, New Hospitality of the Year, Emerging Downtown Leader, Developer of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Business of the Year, and the Tom Billionis Lifetime Achievement Award. It’s sure to be a good time and there will be auctions for unique Downtown experiences! Check out the site for more information!


 

Miniature Art Show Preview Party

When: Thursday February 1, 6-9 p.m.

Rosette Studios, 214 S. Campbell Ave.

This one sounds like a lot of fun. It’s a show benefitting Queen City Rock Camp and the artists involved. Each artist makes a 3″ by 3″ work of art and every piece costs $5. Come by and see what the creative participants come up with and maybe take on home for the mantle!

6th Annual Midwest Regional Beer Wine Cheese And Chocolate Festival VIP Pairings Dinner

When: Friday, February 2, 6:30 p.m.

Where: Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, 3001 N. Grant Ave.

For all you foodies out there, how would you like to have a delicious four course culinary experience? How about if each course was paired with a tasty local spirit? Sounds pretty good right? Hit up the EPlex at the Fairgrounds to partake in the 6th Annual Beer, Wine, Cheese and Chocolate Festival.


 

 

Escape From Hogwarts

When: Friday, February 2, 6:00 p.m.

Where: Library Center, 4653 S. Campbell Ave.

Are you an adult who is an unashamed super fan of Harry Potter? Then, this is probably like a dream come true for you. The Library Center is putting on an escape from Hogwarts event this Friday! It’s a free event where you can solve puzzles and explore the wizarding world of Harry Potter! Plus, Family Movie Night is also at the Library Center that night at 6:30 and the feature is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone!

First Friday Art Walk

When: Friday, February 2, 6 p.m.

Where: Downtown

First Fridays are an institution of night life in Downtown Springfield.  It’s back this Friday with 13 participating establishments showcasing awesome art from local and nonlocal artists. It’s a perfect way to work off a few calories after a meal downtown!

West Side Story 

When: Through February 4, 7:30 p.m.

Where: Springfield Little Theatre at the Landers, 311 E. Walnut St.

The Landers Theatre version of West Side Story is getting rave reviews for its powerful acting and songs. It’s the classic story of rivals gangs in 1950s New York and how two lovers from different sides connect.

The Mystery Hour 

When: Friday, February 2, 7:30 p.m.

Where: Gillioz Theatre, 325 Park Central East

Springfield’s own late night show is back for another live taping! The guests for this show are awesome! Michael McMillian of True Blood and Crazy Ex Girlfriend will be there, as will locals Nicola Gilardi and Amy Blansit.


 

Raptor Identification

When: Saturday, February 3, 2 p.m.

Where: Springfield Conservation Nature Center, 4601 S. Nature Center Way

Ok, so it’s not the raptors from the Jurassic Park movies, but it is an event dedicated to sharpening your skills in locating birds of prey, which as we all know is what raptors evolved from, according to Dr. Allan Grant (from the original movie).

Travis Tritt

When: Saturday February 3, 8 p.m.

Where: Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts, 525 S. John Q. Hammons Parkway

Country music fans are in for a treat! CMA and Grammy award winning country music star Travis Tritt will be in town at the Juanita K. Hammons Hall. Tritt will be the only one on stage, playing acoustic versions of his favorite songs!

WWE Live: Road to WrestleMania!

When: Monday February 5, 7:30 p.m.

Where: O’Reilly Family Event Center at Drury University, 935 N. Summit Ave.

That’s right! WWE is coming to Springfield! According to multiple sources, WWE Champion AJ Styles will be competing, as will Randy Orton, Smackdown Champ Charlotte and the USOS, Baron Corbin, Shinsuke Nakamara and plenty more!

Comedian Brian Posehn

When: February 9-11 nightly at 8 p.m.

Where: Blue Room Comedy Club at Billiards of Springfield, 541 E. St Louis St

Comedian Brian Posehn is performing for three nights in Springfield! You might know him from his work on the Big Bang Theory. You might know him from his work with Mr. Show. You might know him from his Comedy Central specials. Wherever you know him from, we’re betting he made you laugh.


 

5th annual Lake Life Expo

When: February 16-18 1-8 p.m.

Where: Springfield Expo Center, 635 E. St. Louis St.

If you’re a big fan of lake life, you really can’t miss this event. It’s one of the biggest shows of the year for boats, jet skis, lake decor and plenty more!

Luke Bryan, Kip Moore & The Cadillac Three

When: Friday February 16, 7 p.m.

Where: JQH Arena, 685 S. John Q. Hammons Parkway

In one of the biggest country shows in Springfield’s recent history, Luke Bryan will be kicking off a nation wide tour at JQH Arena! Bryan has won nearly every country music award in existence and has had tons of top singles. He’s also been featured as an advisor on The Voice. If you want a ticket, you better act fast!


 

Arc of the Ozarks Hunt & Fish Outdoor Show

When: February 9-10, 4-10 p.m.

Where: Springfield Expo Center, 635 E. St Louis St.

What could be better than hearing local hunting and fishing experts give talks, checking out local vendors for supplies and having a good time talking about the good ole outdoors, all for a great cause? This the 10th annual Arc of the Ozarks Hunt & Fish Show!


A Frozen Frenzy: Our Winter Princess Event

When: Saturday February 17, 2-4 p.m.

Where: Springfield Little Theatre at the Landers, 311 E. Walnut St.

If you have a little girl in your life, chances are pretty good she loves the movie Frozen. Well, SLT is putting on a really cool event just for her! There will be performances by Disney princesses, photo ops, face painting, prizes, treats and a costume parade! The event wouldn’t be complete without a sing along of the award winning songs from the movie! Get your tickets now!

KGBX Women’s Show

When: Saturday, February 17, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, 3001 N. Grant Ave.

iHeartRadio is hosting the 20th annual KGBX Women’s Show at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds. It’s a great place to spend Galentine’s Day with a few friends! There will be more than 200 vendors on hand, food sampling, prizes and so much more. It’s always a great time!

 


 

Springfield Symphony Presents: African-American Heritage

When: Saturday February 17, 7:30-9 p.m.

Where: Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts, 525 S. John Q. Hammons Parkway

In honor of African-American History Month, the Springfield Symphony will be performing the “Afro-American Symphony” by William Grant Still, who was the first African-American to conduct a major symphony orchestra. The symphony will also be performing works by George Gershwin. Todd Payne will also be there to perform his moving rendition of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

Bull Blast

When: Friday February 23, 6 p.m.

Where: Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, 3001 N. Grant Ave

The 27th Annual Bull Blast is back at the ozark Empire Fairgrounds. It’s everything you look for in bull riding event. Rodeo Clowns, award winning announcers, and of course, plenty of riders hanging on as long as they possibly can!

Visioncon 2018

When: February 23-25, noon-7 p.m.

Where: Hilton Branson Center, 200 Sycamore St., Branson.

For comic book fans, SciFi geeks and cosplayers, the 2018 Visioncon is gonna be huge! True SciFi fans will be treated to some really cool media guests including the star of the cult classic Starship Troopers, Casper Van Dien!

28th Annual Lawn and Garden Show

When: Saturday, February 24, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Where: Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, 3001 N. Grant Ave.

this event always hits home for us! This is a great event to sharpen your skills as a gardener and finely tune that green thumb! There will be more than 100 vendors on hand, so you can pick up some new tools to perfect your lawn or garden.

37th Annual Sertoma Chili Cook-Off

When: February 23-24, 11 a.m.

Where: Springfield Expo Center, 635 E. St. Louis St.

By now, you already know about the Sertoma Chili Cookoff. It’s one of the biggest food festivals every year in Springfield and for good reason! More than 70 teams will compete for the ultimate prize of best chili and you get to partake in the cooking leading up to a new champ! Plus, there will be live music on two stages. The proceeds go to helping out the Boys and Girls Club of Springfield!
