The #GingerShotChallenge at the Murney Booth, presented by MJ’s Deli!

This Friday MJ’s Deli will be joining us on the square and we’ll be handing out free ginger shots!  Watch out because they’re a little spicy! You can take yours at our booth and you’ll receive a coupon to MJ’s and be entered for a chance to win two Springfield Cardinals tickets for the night of August 12th against the Midland Rockhounds!  After you take your shot, take a selfie with our sign and post it to Instagram, Twitter or Facebook!

Ginger is a great source for what ails ya.  Ginger is a non-alcoholic drink that can help ease an upset stomach, it can help your immune system stay strong, and it can even give you some extra energy!  So not only will you be getting free stuff, you’ll also be doing some thing good for your body!

MJ’s Deli has all sorts of  fresh products that you won’t find anywhere else in the city.  In addition to ginger shots, MJ’s also has some amazing fresh salad and produce, skirt steak on a stick, sandwiches, coffee and lots more!  The market has the healthy, delicious products you’re used to at MaMa Jean’s stores all over the city.  It’s a great spot for lunch, too! There’s ample seating and you can even pick up a few groceries while you’re there!

There’s also an impressive list of activities at the August First Fridays.  Let’s take a look!

Eddie Gumucio & The Electrics

Here’s Eddie and the Electrics performing on Springfield’s favorite variety show, The Mystery Hour.   Gumicio is an incredible accomplished musician.  He played on 4 continents and in 35 countries before he was 21! Gumicio and the Electrics bring a powerful indie rock vibe to all of their performances with a mix of snappy guitar riffs, electronica and catchy lyrics.

The Norman Jackson Band

Have you ever had the blues so bad that you needed to call your friend over to your house to help you open up your eyes?  The Norman Jackson Band knows your pain.  Melt the blues away with NJB’s soothing Southern vibe and soul-rattling sax solos. Seriously you don’t wanna miss these fellas.

In addition to live music there will be a performance by Springfield’s representative for the National Poetry Slam from MOPoetry, a Spark Photo Booth, Springfield Lasers mini tennis, and more than 15 market vendors.

If that’s not enough to convince you, the square will also be a Pokemon Go meetup! We’re expecting a big crowd!
