First Fridays is back tonight! The First Friday Art Walk is expanded to include a festival atmosphere in the center of the Queen City. There’s going to be plenty going on! Vendors will have booths set up around the square to show off their work. Three musicians are performing. Plus, there’s a performance by the Yes Troupe of Springfield Little Theater, Springfield Improv and a demonstration by Springfield Rugby tonight!
Join us downtown tonight from 6-9 p.m. for some Springfield Brewing Company brews, great music, local artists and mini tennis with the Springfield Lasers! First Fridays is brought to you by The Downtown Association of Springfield, Murney Associates, Realtors® and the Springfield News-Leader.
Here’s a closer look at the artists and events on display tonight!
If it has strings, Molly Healey can make it sing. She is a violinist, cellist and fiddler who also writes and sings her own original songs. Molly has been a regular performer in downtown Springfield for quite some time now, but if you haven’t had the chance to see her live yet, take advantage of the opportunity to see her on the big stage at Park Central Square tonight!
Patrick Mureithi’s talent is remarkable. He is not only a musician, but also an accomplished public speaker, documentary filmmaker and all-around cool guy. Patrick was called “a filmmaker I admire” by Roger Ebert! His music is an eclectic combination of folk, Delta blues, reggae, and hip hop. Have a listen at his site and don’t miss him tonight!
Country-folk fusion is the bread and butter for Casey Lynne and the Deal Breakers. They also cite rockabilly as an influence in their sound, but this is a country band through and through. They once played a show on a trailer bed! They also have a long history of being hilarious on Facebook. Check out the cover photos on their events. Great stuff! Come out tonight and welcome Casey Lynne and the Deal Breakers to the square!
Springfield Little Theatre’s Y.E.S. Troupe will be performing tonight! Here’s a look at their performance at Artsfest 2015!
Quick, be funny! The phrase would most likely get crickets from most of us, but not for these folks! Springfield Improv will have you chuckling tonight at First Fridays!
That’s right! SBC will be on the square tonight too, serving up their craft brews that are made right here in Springfield.
Come out and join us on the square tonight! We’ll have a new market update at our booth, so stop by and have a great time tonight at First Fridays on Park Central Square!
