Stockton, MO is located at the headwaters of Stockton Lake, one of the “top 10” sailing lakes in the United States, and only 50 miles north of Springfield, MO. We are home to a variety of festivals including our bluegrass festival, numerous golf tournaments and our annual Black Walnut Festival held the last full weekend of September. Did you know that black walnuts from Stockton, MO have been eaten around the world and even were used to clean the Statue of Liberty in New York City when it became tarnished in the past? Come enjoy our local delicacy or try it on top of homemade ice cream at Hammons Emporium on the square.
Besides our local traditions, we also invite you to check out Stockton R-I Schools. Our brand new High School on the south side of town anchors our school system for the future, as well as provides your children an excellent learning environment to succeed. Living at the lake has many benefits to us all including having numerous beaches, marinas and shoreline for your personal enjoyment. Just south of town lies Stockton State Park, one of the best preserved state parks in Missouri, and your destination for lake living.
