Battlefield is a charming town of approximately 5,000 residents located southwest of Springfield, and sharing a zip code with the small town of Brookline. Battlefield is the site of the first major Civil War battle fought west of the Mississippi, the Battle of Wilson’s Creek, which is now a Nationally designated historic site known as the Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield Park. With close proximity to both Springfield and Republic, the town has continued to add new housing developments, and the growth is not expected to slow down anytime soon.
